So lately I have been talking a lot about how the important things to know about the design industry aren’t usually taught in school. It would have been a good post to write, and may still happen in the future, but in the meantime Mirko Humbert over at Design Reviver has done a good job of covering some important points.
It is a good read for sure with very valid information and I suggest that you head over there and read it, and if anyone wants to talk more about this subject and these ideas let me know!

The point about the contracts is key. No contract = you get screwed. Nice post.

Great find Graeme! I know that I tried to instill these things in my students when I was teaching design, but some things just don’t stick with you until you experience them yourself: like the importance of backing up your files!
